Alloy Bonnet Toggle

Home Up

I decided the black plastic bonnet release toggle had to go! Whilst hunting round for a suitable alloy replacement I noticed the Griffith’s alloy door-opening button would be ideal.

I got one of these from my dealers for around £10, and bought a short length of aluminium tube from B&Q.

Just cut off the plastic toggle with a hacksaw, leaving about 25mm of the plastic stem attached to the cable. Then cut a length of alloy tube approx. 35mm long, this will slip over the remaining plastic stem and form a socket to Araldite the door button into. Glue the whole lot together, et voilà !
